Main Export Markets

Located in the heart of Balkans, Kosovo possesses a strategic characteristic as a very important connection between countries in the region, as well as an important gateway to the EU market.

In terms of exports, Kosovo has a diversified portfolio of countries with whom it cooperates. Initially, the neighboring countries (Albania, Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia) take nearly 25% of exports from Kosovo. Furthermore, during 2011, the trade agreement with US, Turkey, Norway, and Japan, has allowed for 2.6% of total export to flow into those countries. Finally, Kosovo’s agreement with EU markets has contributed a total 42.8% of exports to flow into EU member countries during 2011.
