Kosovar Tourism promoted in Izmir, Turkey

Kosovo Investment and Enterprise Support Agency (KIESA) which acts within the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI), in cooperation with the program “Promotion of Private Sector Employment” (PPSE), which is implemented from Swisscontact, has made it possible the participation of the tour-operators from Kosovo in the tourism fair “Travel Turkey Izmir 2015”, which is being held in Izmir, Turkey.

Kosovo has been selected as a partner state for participation in this fair, and has been presented in all the promoting materials of this fair.

Present in this important event is also the vice-minister of the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Kosova, Mr. Avni Kastrati and the General Director of KIESA, Mr. Besian Mustafa.

Vice-minister Kastrati during his speech in the opening ceremony of this fair has described the partnership between Turkey and Kosovo as important in economic, social, historical and cultural fields. Mr. Mustafa highlighted the promotion of investments and tourism.


“Tourism as a new sector in Kosovo, has a special importance in our country’s economic development. As one of the oldest countries in Europe, Kosovo has a lot to offer to foreign visitors and those who are seeking adventures: A considerable number of historical sights which reflect our multi-cultural and multi-religious inheritance, beautiful mountains for adventurists who hike, camp, paraglide and also hospitality from the most hospitable people that they ever met. The majority of tourists who have once visited Kosovo, come back again because this country has always beautiful and magical things to offer”, Mr. Mustafa said.

In this fair, Kosovo Tourism, except representatives from KIESA, is also being promoted from these tour-operators and touristic agencies: “Altavia Travel”, Prishtinë, “Traveks”, Prishtinë, “Veneta Travel”, Prishtinë, “Vector Tours”, Prizren, “Kosova Outdoor”, Pejë and KATA (Kosovo Alternative Tourism Association).

Since the first day of this fair, Kosovo’s stand of 44m2 has attracted great interest from the participants and visitors for Kosovo’s tourism. Kosovo’s stand was visited from the Minister of Tourism of Turkey, Mayor of Adana, Mayor of Izmir and the Ambassador of Kosova in in Turkey, Mr. Avni Spahiu.

Touristic offers are being presented from Kosovo’s representatives and also information and experiences are being exchanged with different businessmen.

Izmir Tourism Fair has a space of around 25.000 m2, and during all the previous year there have been around 902 exhibitors from 30 states and over 28 thousand visitors from 68 countries.

The fair is open from 10th to 13th December 2015.
